I was so very impressed with this music that I recorded it to my computer so I could easily listen to it repeatedly. While the shadow of Shostakovich is there, Arapov has a clear voice of his own. There was great invention in the thematic material and his sense of form was superb. Even within his conservation instrumentation, there was a great deal of invention. Not knowing the language, I found the choral sections to be a bit tedious. Certainly a composer who deserves to be heard more often.

How did you get a hold of these recordings? I've been looking online for his CD or MP3 and only a handful available. I greatly enjoy listening to the few works of his that I got my hands on.
